How frustration leads to making your own premium cotton t-shirts.

Welcome to Tolerance Apparel. Ever spend hours searching for a simple black t-shirt? Well, you're not alone. Over the years I’ve spent too many hours searching. So, alongside my wife and partner Maria, we’ve made it our mission to bring you the best in fit, fabrics, colors, and value. We’re taking the hassle out of finding your go-to t-shirt.

My wife says I’m picky, and she's right. I've tried dozens of brands, from designer t-shirts to streetwear t-shirts, but none quite hit the mark for me. I’d spend hours in malls trying on shirt after shirt eventually coming home with nothing. I then tried online stores, endlessly scrolling only to end up frustrated and empty-handed.

My main issue was finding a basic t-shirt that just fit—comfortable, not too short or too wide. Even when I found one I liked, it was a gamble after a wash and forget about it fitting if it accidentally went into the dryer. That inconsistency drove me nuts. Even within the same brand, different colors or designs meant different fits. Back in the day I used to wear graphic heavy, oversized t-shirts from surf t-shirt brands. Wearing an oversized fit made it easier to find shirts and I loved those t-shirts. But, as I've “gracefully” aged, my style has changed. Now, I lean toward a cleaner, logo-free look which, sadly, hasn’t made finding t-shirts any easier.

After years of inconsistent fits and quality issues, my wife Maria suggested, "Why not make your own t-shirts?" Crazy, I never thought we’d do it. But then we did. We took the plunge, sold our house and dove deep into learning about fabrics and design. Tolerance Apparel was born. Now, we finally have it, our first ever premium t-shirts, the Favorite Tee and the Perfect Tee.

Tolerance isn’t just a word to us, it's not just about garment measurements; it's our commitment to high quality t-shirts, high standards and consistency. But more than that, it's about individual expression and being able to buy something that fits you instead of trying to fit into something you bought.
